Wivholm Appointed To Board Of Oil, Gas

Jeff Wivholm of Medicine Lake has been appointed to Montana’s Board of Oil and Gas Conservation.

“I’m honored to be on it,” Wivholm said.

He noted that he has worked with oilfield activity for most of his life. His experience includes being president of the Montana Association of Conservation Districts for four years and he is an agricultural producer of small grains.

“I thought it was a good fit,” Wivholm said of being selected to the board. “I think I have a good handle of what can be done.”

“I’m pro-development as long as they’re preserving resources as much as possible,” Wivholm said.

He feels oil development growth isn’t only possible in the Bakken but also with Red River wells in eastern Montana.

“I think we have a lot of potential, but there’s politics that plays in that,” Wivholm said.

Also appointed to the board by Gov. Greg Gianforte were Gary McDermott of Shelby, Corey Welter of Billings and Roy Brown of Billings.

The board of oil and gas conservation meets about every six weeks in Billings.
