Bainville Senior Likes Journalism
There’s a writer with the last name of Woodward that enjoys journalism in Bainville. Although she wasn’t even born yet during famous reporter Bob Woodward’s investigation of the Watergate break-in, Bainville High School senior Matti Woodward does enjoy working in the newspaper field.
Woodward is one of the writers for Bainville’s Blues News newspaper, which goes to students and community members. Her favorite type of writing is opinion pieces.
“Most of the time when I write an opinion, they aren’t too controversial because it’s a student newspaper,” she explained.
She also enjoys writing about events in Bainville as well as sports.
Her activities in Bainville include National Honor Society and volleyball.
The National Honor Society was recently involved in collecting canned goods for Culbertson’s food bank.
“We went to Froid and Culbertson and gathered cans in Bainville,” Woodward said.
She has competed in volleyball throughout her high school career.
“Tournaments were the most fun,” Woodward said. “Getting to know players and bus rides were great.”
Her hobbies include painting and hanging out with friends. Her favorite types of painting include water colors and acrylic.
She says her favorite classes are journalism, history and art. She appreciates the freedom that teachers give in journalism and art classes.
Woodward, who currently works at Wal-mart, plans to continue working after high school graduation. In the future, she hopes to become a nanny or a front desk manager.
“We have good teachers. Most of the teachers get to know the students well,” Woodward said of Bainville. “The kids are nice.”
