Malta Girls Win Divisional Crown

Malta’s girls broke away to beat Fairfield, 49-33, in the championship game of the Northern B basketball tournament held in Wolf Point on Saturday, March 6.

After a 19-19 half-time deadlock, Malta outscored Fairfield 15-9 in the third quarter and 15-5 in the fourth quarter.

Top scorers for the M’ettes were Allison Kunze with 12 and Maddie Williamson with 10 points.

Emma Woods scored 11 points for Fairfield.

Glasgow defeated Choteau, 42-35, in the third-place game. The Scotties led 22-16 at the half and 33-24 after three quarters of play.

Leading Glasgow were Tyann Graham with 11, Daley Aune with 10 and Abrianna Nielson with nine points.

Emma Gunderson scored nine points for Choteau.

Semi-final round action saw Malta downing Choteau by a 64-22 margin and Fairfield stopping Glasgow by a 33-26 final.
