Council Considers Lighting Costs For Ike’s
The Culbertson Town Council met Monday, March 8. The full council was in attendance.
Following the approval meeting minutes for the Feb. 8 regular meeting and financials and claims, Ken Forbregd gave a report on the status of Ike’s Fishing Pond and Walking Trail.
Forbregd said the water level is on the rise, now that ice skating weather is over for the year. He said donations are still needed to settle up with Hurley’s Oilfield Service for construction on the main pond. Forbregd mentioned a recent donation from Wolf Point Walleyes, thanking them.
According to Forbregd, Ike’s will be stocked with fish by staff from Fish, Wildlife and Parks at the end of the April or the first part of May. He said FWP will restock the pond throughout the year for special occasions.
The council again considered costs for lighting Ike’s. Forbregd provided several options and stipulated costs on a monthly scale working out to approximately $300 per year. The council tabled the issue for further information.
Jeremy Fadness from WWC Engineering told the council that Carr Construction will be repairing leaks and other issues with the water tank.
The work is expected to be completed by June 1. A public hearing and planning board meeting was set for April 8. A draft copy of the town’s growth policy is available for review at the town office.
