Area Athletes Win Honors At Junior High Meet
Junior high track athletes from Wolf Point, Frontier and Poplar placed during action in Sidney on Thursday, April 22.
Wolf Point scored 13 points for seventh-grade girls, two points for eighth-grade girls and 10 points for eighth-grade boys.
Andrew Dschaak took fourth in the 200-meter hurdles and fifth in the 400 for eighth-grade boys. Kolby Burshia placed fifth in the shot put and 200-meter hurdles for eighth-grade boys.
Marley MacDonald placed third in the discus and sixth in the shot put for seventh- grade girls.
Ali Corpron placed fifth in the discus for eighth-grade girls.
Kashlyn Speak Thunder finished third in the 200-meter hurdles for seventh-grade girls.
Frontier accounted for 15 points for seventh-grade boys, two points for eighthgrade boys and seven points for seventh-grade girls.
Frontier’s Jeff Deserly earned third in the shot put, second in the discus and sixth in the long jump for seventh- grade boys.
The relay team of J. Deserly, Brady FourBear, William Benton and Damian Deserly finished in fifth place for eighthgrade boys.
Kaylee Hays took fourth and Baylee Hays placed fifth in the shot put for seventh- grade girls.
The relay team of B. Hays, Ania Merisio, Kailayla Villaluz and Milayna Smoker- DeWitt finished sixth for seventh-grade girls.
Poplar scored 16 points for seventh-grade boys, 20 points for eighth-grade boys, 12 points for seventh-grade girls and 14 points for eighth grade girls.
William Breland finished third in the 200-meter hurdles and fourth in the 100-meter hurdles for seventh-grade boys. Kaniel Ricker took fifth and Ivan Iron Cloud was sixth in the 100-meter hurdles for eighth-grade boys. Ricker finished second in the 200-meter hurdles. Walker Burshia placed sixth in the shot put for eighth-grade boys. Iron Cloud earned second in the high jump.
The 400-meter relay team of Wilder Bear Cub, Ricker, Iron Cloud and Breland finished third for seventh-grade boys.
Kacie Colgan finished fifth in the 100-meter hurdles and 200-meter hurdles for seventh- grade girls.
Bailey Dupree took fourth and Precious Keiser was sixth in the 200-meter hurdles for eighth-grade girls. Keiser earned second in the shot put. Mattie Ayers finished sixth in the 1600 for eighthgrade girls. The 400-meter relay team of Keiser, Ayers, Colgan and Rebecca Gorder finished second for seventh-grade girls.
