Culbertson Competes In Lambert
Culbertson’s boys’ and girls’ track athletes each placed fifth in the team standings during the Savage Invitational held in Lambert on Wednesday, April 21.
The Cowgirls finished with 64 points. The top three teams were Plentywood with 123.5, Fairview with 97.5 and Savage with 73.
Leading Culbertson’s girls was Abbey Granbois by clearing 5-4 for first place in the high jump.
The girls’ 400-meter relay team consisting of Autumn Bergum, Makena Hauge, Megan Granbois and A. Granbois finished first with a time of 54.91 seconds.
Destiny Thompson ran the 3200 in 15:12.05 for second- place honors.
Placing third were Bergum with a best of 14-04 in the long jump and a mark of 29-6 in the triple jump and Hauge by clearing 4-8 in the high jump.
Earning fourth were Kayli Olson with a time of 6:36.21 in the 1600 and A. Granbois with a time of 14.37 seconds in the 100 and a mark of 14-4 in the long jump.
Bergum took fifth in the 100 at 14.38 seconds.
The 1600-meter relay team featuring Bergum, A. Granbois, M. Granbois and Olson took fifth in 5:00.93.
Olson finished sixth in the 800 at 2:59.54. Also placing sixth were Alicyn Ator with a mark of 75-11 in the javelin and Hauge with a best of 14-0 in the long jump.
The Cowboys scored 38.5 points. Richey/Lambert topped the standings with 134 points followed by Plentywood with 130.5 and Froid/Lake with 75 points.
Kyler Kempton led the Cowboys by earning third in the discus at 124-01. Justice Bengochea placed third in the shot put with a mark of 40-1.
Both of Culbertson’s boys’ relay teams finished third. The 400-meter relay team featuring Kempton, Kobe Nickoloff, Wyatt Snyder and Payton Perkins had a time of 48.79 seconds. The 1600-meter relay team of Payton Perkins, Colby Olson, James Kirkaldie and Snyder ran a time of 3:57.39.
Earning fourth were Perkins at 12:58 in the 100 and Nickoloff at 17-10 in the long jump. Kirkaldie finished fifth in the 1600 at 5:46.45. Olson cleared 5-4 for fifth place in the high jump and had a mark of 34-3 for fifth place in the triple jump.
Nickoloff took sixth in the javelin with a best of 119-3.
