Culbertson Scores At Divisional
A first-place effort by Abbey Granbois in the high jump highlighted Culbertson’s day at the Eastern C divisional track meet in Sidney on Thursday, May 20.
The Cowgirls scored 27 points for 10th place at the meet. The Cowboys finished with 10 points for 10th place.
Abbey Granbois cleared 5-1 for top honors in the high jump.
Makena Hauge, a sophomore, cleared 4-10 for third place in the high jump. Megan Granbois cleared 4-8 for fourth place in the event.
Autumn Bergum raced to a fourth-place finish in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.78 seconds.
The 400-meter relay team featuring Bergum, Hauge, M. Granbois and A. Granbois finished fifth with a time of 55.71 seconds.
Taking sixth were Kayli Olson with a time of 13:58.43 in the 3200 and A. Granbois with a mark of 15-3 in the long jump.
Leading Culbertson’s boys was Kobe Nickoloff. The sophomore placed third in the long jump at 19-3 and sixth in the javelin at 120-1.
The 400-meter relay team featuring Wyatt Snyder, Nickoloff, Kyler Kempton and Payton Perkins finished fifth with a time of 48.09 seconds.
The 1600-meter relay team consisting of Colby Olson, James Kirkaldie, Perkins and Snyder took sixth at 4:01.66.
The Richey/Lambert boys won the team title with 107.5 points followed by Hinsdale with 89 points and Scobey with 75 points.
Plentywood’s girls earned first with 65 points. Saco took second with 60 and Fairview placed third with 57 points.
Individual divisional champions in the boys’ division included Hinsdale’s Loden Idler in the 100 and long jump, Hinsdale’s Jesse Lee in the 200 and shot put, Circle’s Hayden Lockie in the 400 and 800, Richey/Lambert’s Samuel Smith in the 1600 and 3200, Richey/Lambert’s Caleb Senner in the 110-meter hurdles and 300-meter hurdles, Fairview’s 400-meter relay team, Scobey’s 1600-meter relay team, Fairview’s Paul Hardy in the discus, Plentywood’s Cameron Brusven in the javelin and triple jump, Lustre Christian’s Jasiah Hambira in the high jump and Scobey’s J.P. Braut in the pole vault.
Earning titles in the girls’ division were Savage’s Brooke Reuter in the 100, 200, 400 and triple jump, MonDak’s Elizabeth Field in the 800, Plentywood’s Annie Kaul in the 1600 and 3200, Hinsdale’s Kaitlyn McColly in the 100-meter hurdles, long jump, 300-meter hurdles and pole vault, Richey/Lambert in both relays, Circle’s Ryann Moline in the shot put, Fairview’s Jadyn Gackle in the discus and Saco’s Jaycee Erickson in the javelin.
