Red Hawks Place During Divisional
Three Froid/Lake athletes qualified for the state meet during the Eastern C divisional track meet in Sidney on Thursday, May 20.
The Red Hawks scored 14 points in the boys’ division and six points in the girls’ division.
Carolyne Christoffersen placed fourth in the shot put with a mark of 35-8 and took fifth in the javelin with a best of 98-7.
Javonne Nesbit earned second in the triple jump with a best of 38-9.
Max Engelke ran the 400 in 55.99 seconds for fourth place.
Bode Miller took sixth in the javelin at 127-6. The 400-meter relay team featuring Issac Johnson, Daniel Forizs, Nesbit and Mason Dethman finished sixth at 48.50.
Coming close to placing were Forizs in seventh for the 200 and eighth in the 100, the 1600-meter relay team of Nate Stentoft, Brett Stentoft, Forizs and Engelke in seventh, Dethman in eighth for the triple jump and Christoffersen in seventh for the discus.
