Brockton Woman Killed In Single Car Crash

A Brockton woman died in a crash on BIA Route 1 between Wolf Point and Poplar May 28.

The woman, a 34-year-old Brockton resident, was pronounced dead at the scene Friday night. She had not been identified at press time. The single-car accident occurred around 9 p.m. According to Montana Highway Patrol trooper Chris George, a 35-year-old Poplar man was driving a 2005 Ford Taurus eastbound on BIA Route 1 when the vehicle left the road on the north side and traveled through a ditch before coming to rest in the bottom of a culvert near mile maker 628.

Neither person was wearing a seatbelt. Alcohol and speed are suspected as factors in the crash.

The man was taken to St. Vincent Healthcare in Billings.
