The Post 49 Bulls were outscored during two nonleague American Legion baseball games in Watford City, N.D., on Monday, June 7.

In the first game, Watford City won by a 13-3 final. The Wolves gained an 8-1 lead during the first three innings of play.

Watford City accounted for five runs in the bottom of the fifth.

Watford City had four hits and received 11 walks in the contest.

The Bulls jumped out to a 1-0 advantage in the top of the first inning when Bode Miller walked and then scored on a double by Issac Johnson.

Johnson led the Bulls with two hits. Adding one hit each were Easton Tommerup, Braeden Romo and Payton Hauge.

Pitchers for the Bulls were Payton Perkins, Kieran Hernandez and Johnson.

Watford City fought off the Bulls, 17-11, in the second game of the double-header.

The Bulls struck for five runs in the top of the first inning. A double by Romo that knocked home Miller and Johnson highlighted the frame.

Tommerup scored on a passed ball in the top of the second for a 6-3 advantage.

The pitching of Tommerup kept the Bulls ahead until Watford City struck for 10 runs in the bottom of the fourth inning for a 14-6 margin.

The Bulls battled back to 14-10 with four runs in the top of the fifth as Parker Sinks, Perkins, Hernandez and Miller scored in the frame.

After Watford City increased its lead to 17-10 in the bottom of the sixth, the Bulls scored a final run when Romo singled to bring home Johnson in the top of the seventh.

Johnson accounted for three of the Bulls’ 12 hits. Adding two hits each were Romo and Payton Hauge.

Romo finished with three runs batted in while Johnson and Hernandez had two each.

The Bulls will travel to Miles City on Friday, June 11, and to Laurel on Saturday, June 12.

The Bulls will host Wolf Point in Froid on Tuesday, June 15. The conference games are scheduled for 4 and 6 p.m.
