Knierim Scholarships Available
The Frederick and Bernice Knierim scholarships are being offered to graduates of high schools in northeast Montana for higher education in the fall of 2021. The scholarships are given to those who have at least one year at a college or trade school beyond high school, and are residents of Sheridan, Daniels, Valley and Roosevelt counties.
The awards were established to honor the memories of Dr. Frederick and Bernice Knierim, a couple who lived in Glasgow from the dam days until their deaths. Dr. Knierim was one of the very first physicians to treat men who were working on the construction of Fort Peck Dam and his wife was a school teacher during the frenetic days of dam building when there were far too many children for the school system to handle.
Applications can be obtained from Pat Knierim at Box 29, Glasgow, MT 59230.
Every application must have a transcript from the college or school attended. Deadline is July 4.
