Wolf Point Sees Good Turnout For Baseball, Softball Programs
It’s exciting that there’s a good amount of interest in playing softball and baseball this summer for Wolf Point’s young athletes.
“It’s bigger for the girls,” Cody Larson, the city’s baseball and softball director, said of the turnout.
In the recent past, Wolf Point has featured one minor league team and one major league team for girls’ softball.
This summer, there are two squads at each level. “We try to match them to the best of our ability,” Larson said of dividing the teams.
The softball teams will play opponents from Culbertson, Plentywood, Bainville, Scobey and Poplar. The season-ending tournament is scheduled for June 26-27 in Plentywood.
The baseball program has remained constant. There will be two minor league teams and two peewee teams.
There is also a tee-ball league.
