Roosevelt County Fair Gearing Up For Summer Fun
The Roosevelt County Fair in Culbertson has announced dates, schedules and entry information for the 2021 event, marking a return to form following impacts to last year from the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. According to organizers, the theme for this year’s fair will be “Big Dreams In A Small Town.”
The fair website states, “Our initial theme for 2020 was ‘Big Dreams In A Small Town.’ Because COVID-19 caused major changes in the way the Roosevelt County Fair would be run, we decided to hold on to the theme for 2021. Our idea is to highlight some of the many big dreams that have come about throughout the years in Roosevelt County. This could be a small family restaurant that has been around since 1950 or a brand new coffee shop that has opened within the past couple years, or even a family farm that has been around for many generations.”
The fair showcases local Future Farmers of America, 4-H and open class exhibits. The schedule of events this year includes flag ceremonies, a youth horse show and other horse events for kids, commercial booths, animal shows, a local talent showcase, the Pretty Iron Feather Dancers, a free meal sponsored by the Culbertson Chamber, educational booths, a ranch rodeo calcutta and a youth dance on the lawn.
Online entries are now open. Go to rooseveltcountyfair. org to view the entry guide and to enter online. A few full guides have been printed and are available upon request at the fair office. The entry page for a youth coloring contest can be printed at rooseveltcountyfair. org/fun-contests.html.
