Stampede 2021 To Be Closer To Normal Following Last Year’s Limited Events
After an unusual year in 2020, activities for the 98th annual Wolf Point Wild Horse Stampede will be closer to normal this July 7-11.
The Wild Horse Stampede RAM Rodeo at Marvin Brookman Stadium is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. on the nights of July 8, July 9 and July 10. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. each night and calcuttas are held at the Wild Horse Saloon.
Activities begin on Wednesday, July 7, with the KVCK Country Showdown at Borge Park. The Miss Wild Horse Stampede and Miss Teen Wild Horse Stampede Contest also take place that day.
Tough Enough To Wear Pink is highlighted on Thursday, July 8. The Tough Enough To Wear Pink golf tournament begins at 9 a.m. at the Airport Golf Course. It’s also Tough Enough To Wear Pink night at the rodeo.
Other highlights for Thursday include the APRA barrel race and breakaway roping slack at 8 a.m., and the all-class reunion at the Elks Event Center starting at 1 p.m.
The “Blue Jeans and American Dreams” parade begins at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 9. The PRCA timed event slack begins at 7:30 a.m. The open team roping starts following the slack.
A street dance begins at 9 p.m. on Friday downtown on Main Street.
The Wolf Point Museum holds its annual pancake breakfast from 7-11 a.m. on Saturday. Registration for the Human Stampede begins at 7 a.m. at Sherman Park.
Art in the Park is conducted at Sherman Park from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
After the parade at 1 p.m., a stick horse race by Miss Rodeo Montana is scheduled at 2 p.m. at Faith Home.
A new addition to the activities this year is a children’s carnival beginning at 3 p.m. at Fireman’s Park. The event is a fundraiser for the Wolf Point Volunteer Fire Department.
The Catholic Hamburger Stand is open 11 a.m. to 3 a.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
The Stampede carnival, conducted by the Dreamland Carnival Company, opens at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
The Outback 4D barrel race begins at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
