The Culbertson Town Council held their regular monthly meeting Monday, July 12. Councilman Nick Oelkers stepped down from his position, leaving an east side vacancy on the council. Oelkers is moving to the Plentywood area.

Project manager Ken Forbregd gave the council an update on activity at Ike’s Fishing Pond and Walking Trail. He said donations are needed. For more information, he can be reached at 406-480-4795 or kforbregd77@gmail.com.

DeAnne Weeks with the Culbertson Women’s Club addressed the council about funding for renovations to the pool bathhouse. The group has raised significant matching funds for the project but additional costs are expected. Strategies for fundraising were discussed.

Town residents were reminded to submit sketch/site plans for their new fences and other construction projects. You can begin the process by calling the town at 406-787-5271 or by visiting culbertsonmt.com.

Minutes were approved for the June 14 regular and budget workshop meetings. Treasurer’s reports were approved, as were general journal vouchers, payroll vouchers, utility billing vouchers and June bills.

Resolutions were passed approving a preliminary town budget. The budget process will move forward with a second reading at the August 9 regular meeting.
