Brockton Welcomes New Superintendent Of Schools
Incoming Brockton School District superintendent Josh Patterson has a background in Montana education. He served as football coach, English teacher, junior high principal and eventually superintendent at Noxon Public Schools beginning in 2011 and he was principal for Miles City Unified School District from August 2016 to June 2019.
He has also taught at Lake Gibson Senior High School in Lakeland, Fla., and Fannin County High School in Blue Ridge, Geo.
Patterson, who hails from Blue Ridge, said he took a two-year break from education to spend time with family in Florida. He said he has been working in sales to help support his wife as she pursues other career options.
Patterson said his goals include helping the district improve its status and program offerings.
“I know there have been ups and downs in Brockton,” said Patterson. “The biggest thing is just getting kids into school.” He said the school has been stabilizing and he intends to help build on efforts of the previous administration.
Patterson attended Middle Georgia College and University of Georgia in Athens, Ga., where he earned a bachelors degree in English language and literature in 2006. He attended Bethel University in McKenzie, Tenn., where he earned a masters degree in school administration and supervision in 2009. He earned a EdD from Montana State University in Bozeman in 2019.
