Machart Joins Educators At Conference

Culbertson High School teacher Mary Machart recently traveled to Nashville for a four-day conference sponsored by Kansas-based national organization Youth Entrepreneurs.

Machart and nine other Montanans were invited to join a select group of 125 ambassador- educators from 36 states to learn about the organization’s transition to Empowered.

Empowered builds on YE’s 30-year success as a business curriculum to reach a broader audience including all teachers in all subject areas.

During the conference Machart and her colleagues learned the theory and practice of Empowered’s evidence- based methodology as a tool that uses real-world situations to promote positive mental health, the development of employability soft skills, and to unleash students’ entrepreneurial mindset, a mindset that sees any challenge in life as an opportunity to achieve something great…for themselves, their families and communities.

Through hands-on workshops, field trips demonstrating how to bridge the traditional school-community divide, team-building competitions and interactive debrief sessions, Machart and her fellow teachers returned home ready to implement YE’s Empowered program during the upcoming 20212022 school year.
