Underdahl Sentenced For Offenses
Kai Irwin Leigh Underdahl received a four-year deferred sentence for two counts of criminal endangerment. The sentence came during a hearing in district court on Wednesday, July 14.
Underdahl apologized to victims for his actions.
“I feel terrible for what I did,” he said at the hearing.
The charges pertain to an incident involving Underdahl chasing another vehicle and shooting gunshots on U.S. Highway 2 west of Culbertson on Oct. 4, 2021.
The sentence was based on a plea agreement.
“Is this a one-time dumb thing?” District Judge David J. Cybulski asked Underdahl. “Yes,” the defendant responded.
A change in his probation requirements was agreed upon. Parties said Underdahl could use a firearm for pointing dog training and trials. Defense attorney Terrence Toavs said it’s a family activity held in a controlled environment.
