Poplar Woman Dies In Crash

The Montana Highway Patrol reports that a fatality crash occurred just outside of Poplar on Saturday, July 24. According to the highway patrol, the crash was reported at 9:32 p.m. when a 28-yearold female was driving on BIA Route 150. A 58-yearold female from Poplar was riding in the same vehicle. The 58-year-old woman was killed in the crash. The driver was treated for injuries.

The vehicle, which was traveling west, went through a stop sign and then through the intersection before going off the road and crashing into a ditch embankment.

The vehicle continued more than 100 feet from the site of its impact with the ditch before coming to rest on its wheels in a field.

Alcohol and speed are suspected factors in the crash.

The crash was one of fatalities that the Montana Highway Patrol investigated on Saturday. The other fatalities occurred in Lincoln, Gallatin, Powell and Cascade counties.
