The Wolf Point Yellow Jackets put together a solid defensive effort in their 10-0 opening-round loss against Laurel at the district American Legion baseball tournament in Glasgow on Thursday, July 22.

The top-seeded Dodgers were limited to only one run in the bottom of the first inning against the pitching of Wolf Point’s Charlie Page.

In the bottom of the second inning, Page retired Laurel’s first two batters. After a single and a walk, Page retired the next batter to leave the score at 1-0.

Laurel pulled away with four runs in the third and four more in the fourth inning. The Dodgers added a run in the fifth for the 10-0 final.

Laurel’s Reese Dolecheck didn’t allow a hit in the five-inning game. He fanned seven batters.

Wolf Point’s Canyon Casterline and Trevin Boysun each reached base on walks.
