County Reports Six Active COVID Cases

Roosevelt County has six active COVID cases as of Monday, Aug. 2. It has been determined by the State of Montana that one of the deaths previously accounted toward Roosevelt County is not in relation to COVID-19. The county has officially experienced 55 COVID-related deaths.

The Roosevelt County Health Department will switch to Prep-Mod for its COVID vaccination clinics. COVID vaccination clinics are Thursdays from 3-6 p.m. and will begin using this format Thursday, June 10.

Clinics are planned for Aug. 5 in Wolf Point, Aug. 12 in Wolf Point, Aug. 19 in Wolf Point and Aug. 26 in Culbertson.

Masks are recommended for individuals who have not received a COVID-19 vaccine. Symptoms of the disease are fever or chills, cough, difficulty breathing, fatigue, headache, muscle or body aches, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea, and new loss of taste or smell.

Call ahead to a health care professional if you develop symptoms of COVID-19 and have been in close contact with a person known to have COVID-19 or have recently traveled to an area with ongoing spread. Tell your health care professional about your recent travel or contact. Your health care provider will determine if testing for COVID-19 is appropriate for you.

Please contact nursing homes individually to find out if visitors are allowed.

Roosevelt County Senior Center locations are all open for normal operations. Other Roosevelt County buildings are open. To the greatest extent possible, the public is encouraged to conduct business online, by telephone, or by fax. The phone number to the main switchboard and all departments is posted on all doors.

Roosevelt County Health Department is open. Immunizations are by appointment only. For questions or to schedule an appointment, call 653-6223.

Eastern Montana Community Mental Health Center is open Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 8 a.m. to noon and 1-5 pm. Call 653-1872 to set up an appointment. After hours our calls are answered by Montana One Call. They will contact the person on call if it is a crisis.

Area Statistics

As of Monday, Aug. 2, Roosevelt County has six active cases and no current hospitalizations. There have been 55 COVID-related deaths reported in the county.

As of Monday, July 29, Valley County’s active count was two cases. There have been 917 total cases and 18 reported COVID-reported deaths.

Daniels County had one active case as of Friday, July 30. The county has 193 recovered cases and 202 cumulative cases. Eight deaths have occurred due to COVID-19 and/or complications.

In McCone County, there are no active cases as of Monday, Aug. 2. There are 181 recovered cases. There have been two COVID-related deaths in the county.

Phillips County has three active cases as of Monday, Aug. 2. There have been 517 recovered cases and 17 COVID-related deaths.

For Richland County, there were two active cases and 1,244 recovered cases as of Thursday, July 29. Total COVID-related deaths are 18. There have been 1,264 total cases.

Statewide

According to Montana health officials, the state’s total number of known cases now stands at 116,634 since the start of the pandemic. There have been 1,506,498 tests conducted.

Around the state, there are 1,341 active cases. There are 112 active hospitalizations. By Monday, Aug. 2, a total of 1,708 deaths have been reported statewide. A total of 113,585 people have recovered.

Though there is no state mask mandate, local jurisdictions may still choose to implement their own mask requirements. Gov. Gianforte emphasized how providing incentives and encouraging personal responsibility are more effective than imposing unenforceable government mandates.

Vaccine Doses

In Roosevelt County, 6,164 total doses have been administered. There have been 3,068 or 36 percent fully immunizations.

As of Monday, Aug. 2, 896,677 total doses have been administered in Montana. There are 444,670 or 48 percent fully immunized Montanans.
