Bethany Legare has recently joined the physical therapy department at Trinity Campus.

She is originally from Hinsdale. She attended school in Hinsdale and then went on to Carroll College. From there, she studied at the University of Montana, graduating with her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in May 2021.

The motivation that led Legare to physical therapy was the ongoing patient care. Typically, physical therapy patients have several therapy sessions spread out over time which allows the provider to get to know and understand the patient and their needs better.

She also likes the fact that the only needles physical therapists use is for dry needling. Physical therapists use dry needling to release or inactivate trigger points to relieve pain or improve range of motion. Dry needling improves pain control, reduces muscle tension and normalizes dysfunctions of the motor end.

Sometimes electrical stimulation or e-stim is also used, an electrical current transferred through the dry needle that can help accelerate the pain relief process.

Her goal is to continue to provide for the needs of the growing physical therapy and rehab department.

In her free time, she likes to cook, exercise, read and enjoys hiking. She is married to Grant Legare and they recently moved to Wolf Point.

“I am very excited to be here and look forward to starting my career with NEMHS,” Legare said.
