Whitmus Repeats As Grand Champion For Beef

Tiara Whitmus of the Frontier 4-H Club repeated as grand champion for beef during the Roosevelt County Fair in Culbertson Friday, Aug. 13.
“I’m pretty happy with all my animals and how they performed,” said Whitmus, a 2021 graduate of Lustre Christian High School.
Her winning steer weighed 1,517 pounds.
Her other honors during the county fair included reserve champion for sheep, champion for feeder hog and showmanship awards for market beef, steers, pigs and sheep.
“In my words, you get what you deserve,” Whitmus said. “I worked hard for it.”
She also received the senior award for overall grand champion during the showmanship round-robin event on Friday afternoon.
It’s been a busy summer for Whitmus. After winning the Miss Rodeo Wild Horse Stampede title, she has attended fairs in Scobey, Glasgow, Helena, Miles City and Circle.
She thanks family and friends for assisting her throughout the summer.
Other grand champions included Holden Salivar for swine, Kalia Featherston for sheep and goat, Payton Labatte for poultry and Bella Petersen for rabbit.
Reserve champions were Alyssa Johnson for swine, Whitmus for sheep Ella Anderson for goat, Tally Berwick for beef.
Individuals qualifying for the final drive included CeJaye Flinn for swine, Siena Martinez for sheep, Lilly Johnson for beef, Jaxon Flinn for swine, Tally Berwick for sheep, Logan Berwick for swine, Hailey Berwick for beef, Kaylee Olson for swine, Labatte for sheep and Whitmus for swine.
