Wolf Point Police And Fire Blotter
( Publisher’s Note: The following blotter includes the activities of the Wolf Point police and fire department Aug. 2-15. All those cited or arrested are presumed innocent.) The WPPD blotter for Aug. 9-15 was unavailable as of presstime. The blotter from Aug. 2-8 appeared last week. Fire Blotter Aug. 4: The WPVFD responded to a motor vehicle accident at 5:25 a.m. at milemarker 602 on U.S. Highway 2 east of the Tule Creek Bridge.
The WPVFD responded to a grass fire started by a baler at noon ½ mile east of Cattlemen’s on U.S. Highway 2. Three trucks and command responded.
At 5:30 p.m., two trucks and command returned to the fire near Cattlemen’s for a rekindle.
Aug. 8: The WPVFD was paged at 8:11 p.m. to milemarker 33 on Montana Highway 13 for a grass fire. A large round bale had been struck by lightning.
Aug. 12: One truck responded to assist with grass fire three miles south of Vida near Sand Creek with one truck.
Aug. 13: At 3:30 p.m., the WPVFD fought a 240-acre grass fire near milemarker 13 on Montana Highway 13. Four trucks, command and three Bureau of Indian Affairs trucks responded.
Aug. 14: A possible fire north of Wolf Point was reported at 11 a.m. by a concerned citizen. However, what they saw was a fire north of Poplar that appeared closer.
Three trucks responded to a grass fire ½ miles south of the Horseshoe Bar near Oswego on U.S. Highway 2.
