Fort Kipp Celebration This Week

The Fort Kipp Celebration is set for Aug. 27-29. Grand Entry is set for Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 1 and 7 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m.

Dance categories will include golden age, adult, teen and junior grass, fancy, traditional and jingle, all with cash prizes. Numerous daily specials are scheduled as well.

There will be an evening candlelight ceremony hosted by Spotted Bull Treatment Center Friday night.

Joleen Bighorn Emerson said her family would be hosting a 5k/1-Mile Fun Run/Walk Saturday, Aug. 28, in honor of Maruice “Buggy” Bighorn Sr. There will be free t-shirts for the first 100 participants and cash prizes. Sign-ups start at 8 a.m. at the bus garage next to the Headstart building in Fort Kipp.

The Fort Peck Tribes’ Health Promotion Disease Prevention program is hosting a walk/run on Sunday, with registration stating at 8 a.m.
