Law enforcement is seeking information regarding a vehicle that was involved in a rollover accident on Aug. 4.

According to the Montana Highway Patrol, a 2000 Toyota Camry was traveling west on U.S. Highway 2 when it drifted off the north side of the road. The driver over-corrected, crossed the east bound lane and traveled into the south ditch. The vehicle came to rest on the passenger side facing north. The crash occurred near mile marker 600.

The driver of the vehicle fled the scene prior to law enforcement’s arrival. The vehicle had a Montana license plate that was issued to a different vehicle.

The registered owner of the license plate said he had sold the vehicle to which the license plate was registered to a male in Poplar in the spring of 2021. The buyer was supposed to mail the plate back to him, but never did.

Anyone with information regarding this incident should contact the Montana Highway Patrol or the Roosevelt County Attorney’s office.
