Schulte Shot To Death In Utah

A woman with Wolf Point connections was recently shot to death during a camping trip in Utah.

Newlyweds Kylen Schulte and Crystal Turner were discovered dead last week at a campsite in the La Sal Mountains. According to KUTV, law enforcement believe that someone killed the woman and then left the area.

Schulte, 24, of Billings recently married Turner, 38, from Hot Springs, Ark. They resided in Moab, Utah.

They were reported missing when they did not show up to work for two consecutive days. After they went missing, Schulte’s father, former Wolf Point resident Sean-Paul Schulte, urged Moab authorities to help find the couple. A four-day search took place until they were discovered Wednesday, Aug. 18.

Sheriff Steven White told KUTV that he doesn’t believe it was a murder-suicide incident.

“We do think it was an outside party. There has not been any firearms recovered from that area at this time.”

A relative says the couple’s friends mentioned a man who made them feel uneasy the week before and that they were planning to move their campsite.

According to the Associated Press, residents of the Utah tourist town near the site say they’re puzzled and concerned as the police investigation unfolds.

The Grand County Sheriff’s Office called in the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Utah State Bureau of Investigation to assist in the double murder investigation.
