In a marathon non-conference volleyball battle, Fairview edged Wolf Point by a 28-26, 17-25, 25-18, 17-25, 17-15, final in Wolf Point on Tuesday, Sept. 21.

The Wolves gained leads of 13-12 and 14-13 in the deciding set on a block by Sierra Hamilton and a hit by J’Elle Garfield.

Fairview moved ahead 15-14 on a block by Emily Johnson. With the teams deadlocked at 15-15, the Warriors tallied the final two points including one on a kill by Johnson.

Hamilton led Wolf Point with 18 kills while Kylie Rodenberg had 46 assists.

Garfield accounted for five aces, four blocks and 20 digs.

In the first set, Fairview took an 18-11 advantage on a pair of kills by Kailee Hopes and two aces by Megan Asbeck. The net play of Garland pulled the Wolves to three points. The Wolves tied the score on two kills by Hamilton and a kill by Jaylee Azure.

After a serve by Hamyanie Campbell put the Wolves ahead 26-25, Fairview scored the first set’s last three points.

The Wolves jumped out to a 9-6 lead in the second set on an ace by Rodenberg and the net play of Azure and Kaleah Miller-Toves.

Two aces by Katelyn Mac-Donald gave the Wolves a 16-13 lead. Ahead by a 22-18 margin, the Wolves ended the second set on a kill and ace by Adeia Erickson.

Fairview earned a 20-13 lead in the third set and won by a 25-18 margin when Teigan Taylor served an ace.

The net play of Miller- Toves, Azure and Garfield led the Wolves to a 17-8 advantage in the fourth set.

After kills by Azure and Erickson increased the gap to 23-13, the Wolves won the set by a 25-17 margin.
