Poplar Falls Against Broadus
The Poplar Indians lost by a 47-8 final in Broadus on Friday, Sept. 24.
“We played well,” Poplar Coach Joe Hammar said. “We just kept fumbling the ball a lot of times like 10-12 times.”
Poplar trailed by a 31-0 half-time margin.
Poplar’s touchdown and two-point conversion were scored by Gage Berg late in the fourth quarter.
Jacob Berger, a senior, enjoyed a standout defensive game for the Indians. Another highlight was an interception by freshman Ivan Iron Cloud in the fourth quarter.
“We keep improving. I have so many of my starters out that we’re playing so many younger guys,” Hammar said.
Poplar travels to Fairview on Friday, Oct. 1.
