Rosendale Votes Against Continuing Resolution
U.S. Rep. Matt Rosendale, R-Mont., released the following statement after voting against the continuing resolution on Thursday, Sept. 30.
“Today I voted against the continuing resolution to fund our government,” Rosendale said. “For me this was a pretty easy decision. Despite knowing this was necessary, Democrats waited until the last minute and did not attempt to reign in the out-ofcontrol spending and prepare a proper budget. At this point we are past our grandchildren paying for our current government and are spending our great-grandchildren’s tax money.”
Rosendale added, “Unfortunately, the Democrats also decided to sneak in a provision regarding Afghan Refugees. I have been vocal in my opposition to unvetted refugees being brought into the country. With the passing of this, Democrats have now given almost unlimited authority to Secretary Mayorkas to continue bringing in anyone who wants to come from Afghanistan with no vetting. Additionally, it will open the door to all federal entitlements to them and their family members who join them in the future. This bill was dangerous to both current and future Americans and I could not support it.”
