The Froid/Lake Red Hawks scored a 25-2, 25-9, 25-15, non-conference victory at Poplar on Tuesday, Oct. 5.

After two kills by Dasani Nesbit opened the first set, Poplar got on the scoreboard with a spike by Kessee Erickson.

The Red Hawks accounted for the next 16 points. Aleah Johnson served three aces during the streak. Nesbit scored four kills, Carolyne Christoffersen had three kills and Meg Ator had a tip for the Red Hawks.

Ahead by a 23-2 margin, the Red Hawks ended the first set on kills by Mara Salvevold and Christoffersen.

The serving of Baylee Davidson and Johnson led the Red Hawks to a 6-1 advantage in the second set.

Kills by Salvevold and Christoffersen along with an ace by Nesbit increased the margin to 10-2.

The Indians fought back to 11-5 on a kill and ace by Morgen Nordwick.

With a lead of 16-6, the Red Hawks used tips by B. Davidson and kills by Nesbit for a 21-8 advantage. Two of Froid/ Lake’s final three points of the set came on aces by Johnson.

Poplar jumped out to a 5-1 lead in the third set behind an ace by Madison Dehner and a kill by Erickson. The Red Hawks tied the score at 7-7 on a kill by Christoffersen.

After the serving of Salvevold put the Red Hawks up 16-12, kills by Makaylee Elvsaas and Nesbit increased the gap to 18-12.

The net play of Christoffersen led the Red Hawks to a 24-15 lead en route to the 2516 victory.
