Martinez Pleas Not Guilty

Marlina Nannett Martinez, 23, of Wolf Point made a not guilty plea during a federal court hearing in Great Falls on Tuesday, Oct. 12.

Martinez is facing charges of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute oxycodone and fentanyl, possession with intent to distribute oxycodone and fentanyl and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

If convicted of the most serious crime, Martinez faces a mandatory minimum five years to 40 years in prison, a $5 million fine and at least four years of supervised release. Martinez was detained pending further proceedings.

According to court documents, Martinez and Khalili Lajuan Lyons of Eastpoint, Mich., conspired to distribute oxycodone and fentanyl in October and November 2020, at or near Wolf Point.

In addition, Martinez is being charged with knowingly possessing, with the intent to distribute, five or more grams of actual methamphetamine from about Oct. 29, 2020, and continuing through at least March 4, 2021, at or near Wolf Point.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation, Bureau of Indian Affairs, Fort Peck Law Enforcement Services and Roosevelt County Sheriff ’s Office investigated the case.
