Wolves Drop Contest To Glasgow

Glasgow controlled the line of scrimmage and took advantage of Wolf Point turnovers to defeat the Wolves, 58-7, in Wolf Point on Friday, Oct. 22.
The opening drive was one of Wolf Point’s highlights of the evening. After a roughing the punter penalty gave the Wolves a first down at the Glasgow 48, the Wolves picked up a first down at the 36 on a pass from Juliun Benson to Cale Jensen.
Glasgow’s defense, however, sent the Wolves back on three consecutive plays to force a punt.
The Scotties quickly scored on a three-play drive that resulted in a two-yard run by Kyler Hallock with seven minutes left in the first quarter. Hallock also ran in the two-point conversion.
After an interception by Ashton Potter, Glasgow scored again on a 21-yard completion from Mason Donaldson to Trey Johnson.
A pass from Corey Martell to Benson was good for 13 yards and a first down. Martell, however, was injured late in the first quarter and the game was delayed while waiting for ambulance services to arrive. After recovering a fumble, Glasgow’s third touchdown came on a three-yard run by Hallock with 1:24 left in the first quarter. Donaldson passed to Johnson for the conversion and a 22-0 advantage.
A fumble recovery by Damien Nesbitt led to an 11yard run by Hallock with 28 seconds left in the first quarter for a 30-0 margin.
Glasgow’s touchdowns of the second quarter came on a two-yard smash by Tatum Hansen and a 27-yard dash by Hallock for a 46-0 margin.
Glasgow’s KJ Ingram returned the opening kickoff of the second half 85 yards for a touchdown.
A scramble run by Benson earned the Wolves a first down near midfield late in the third quarter. A pass from Benson to Jensen resulted in a first down at the Glasgow 30. The hard running of Mason Garfield then led the Wolves to the two for another first down.
From there, Garfield scored a touchdown for the Wolves with 7:47 remaining.
Glasgow’s final touchdown came on a 53-yard run by Ingram with six minutes left.
The Wolves finished the season with a 2-7 overall record and a 1-4 league mark.
