Bulldogs Drop Matches At Tournament


After an impressive comeback in the first set, Bainville’s volleyball team lost to Fairview, 25-22, 14-25, 17-25, 7-25, in the first round of the District 1C tournament in Scobey on Thursday, Oct. 28.
The Bulldogs fell behind 15-5 in the opening set but tallied the next three points on a tip by Kaitlyn Adkins, an ace by Kendra Romo and a kill by Brecklyn Pippenger.
A kill and a block by B. Pippenger pulled the Bulldogs to 16-13. The serving of Hallie Iversen and net play of Elsie Wilson got the Bulldogs as close as 18-17. Bainville then tied the match at 19-19 on a kill by B. Pippenger. An ace by Lakyn Rabbe, a kill by Miah Pippenger and a block by B. Pippenger put the Bulldogs up 24-21. Bainville held on for the 25-21 win.
A kill by Rabbe and an ace by Iverson put the Bulldogs up 6-5 in the second set. A kill by Wilson kept the Bulldogs close at 9-9.
With the score at 12-11, Fairview broke away with the next eight points with the hard serving of Megan Asbeck leading the way. Fairview went on to the 25-14 win.
A block by Wilson and an ace by Adkins pulled Bainville to 10-5 in the third set, but Fairview moved out to a 23-13 advantage.
In the fourth set, the Warriors jumped out to a lead of 11-3 en route to a 25-7 victory.
Bainville’s girls lost to Savage in a four-set, loser-out match at the District 1C volleyball tournament in Scobey on Friday, Oct. 29.
After dropping the first two sets, the Bulldogs gained a 13-6 lead in the third set on aces by Elsie Wilson and a kill by Brecklyn Pippenger.
Ahead by a 16-11 margin, the Bulldogs scored on kills by Lakyn Rabbe and B. Pippenger for a 20-12 advantage. A kill by Rabbe and an ace Wilson put the margin at 2213.
The Bulldogs held on to a 24-21 lead and then scored the third set’s final point on a kill by Wilson.
The serving of Rabbe and a kill by Kaelyn Romo kept the Bulldogs close at 12-11 in the fourth set. Savage took a 21-12 advantage on a kill by Teah Conradsen, but a tip by a Kaitlyn Adkins and a kill by B. Pippenger pulled the Bulldogs to 21-15.
Another kill by B. Pippenger cut the gap to 23-18, but Savage ended the match on a kill by Brooke Reuter.
