Lady Wolves Come Back To Beat Sidney
Wolf Point’s girls’ basketball squad put together a second- half comeback to beat Sidney, 50-46, on Tuesday, Dec. 21.
Sidney led by a 29-22 halftime margin. Wolf Point then struck for 20 points in the third quarter for a 42-36 advantage.
Behind by a 33-28 score, the Wolves struck for nine straight points on five points by Kaylandra St. Marks and four points by Josie Kolstad.
A baseline jumper by J’Elle Garfield and a three-pointer by Jaylee Azure increased Wolf Point’s lead to a 42-36 margin.
Wolf Point scored the opening four points of the fourth quarter on a layup by St. Marks and a hoop by Kolstad off a pass from Azure.
After the Eagles got as close as 46-43, a basket by Adeia Erickson put the margin at 48-43.
Sidney fought back to 4846, but two free throws by Kolstad increased the gap to 50-46 with 21 seconds remaining.
Leading the Wolves were St. Marks with 14 and Kolstad with 13 points.
Also scoring were Azure with eight, Garfield with six, Erickson with four, Mahala Moran with three and Katelyn MacDonald with two.
Sophie Peters scored 12 points for the Eagles.
