Lustre Lions Defeat Scobey Spartans In Historic Win

The Lustre Christian boys’ basketball squad made history on Tuesday, Dec. 21, The Lions defeated Scobey, 47-33, to end the Spartans’ state record 57-game winning streak in boys’ basketball.

Lustre Christian took a 1410 lead in the first quarter and was ahead 26-20 at the half.

Ahead 35-29, the Lions struck for 12 points in the fourth period for the victory.

Top scorers for Lustre were Elijah Lenihan with 15, Kolden Hoverland with 11 and Kaleb Hoverland with 10 points.

Also scoring were Jasiah Hambira with eight and Cayden Klatt with three points.

Bo Anderson scored 15 points for the Spartans.

In the girls’ game, Scobey posted a 48-10 victory.

Scoring for Lustre were Aubri Holzricther with four, Alexa Reddig with three and Jaden Gibson with three.

Carrie Taylor led the Spartans with 14 points.
