Oelkers Elected Commissioners’ Presiding Officer

Gordon Oelkers was elected presiding officer for the Roosevelt County commissioners at the last regular meeting of the calendar year in Wolf Point. He was nominated by commissioner Gary Macdonald. Oelkers took a moment to thank Macdonald and commissioner Duane Nygaard for helping him learn on the job. He pointed out that while he has been serving in the role for six years, commissioners NygaardandMacdonaldhaveserved for 12 and 23 years respectively. Macdonald thanked outgoing Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office employee Mary Lou Simons for her service to the county. Approval was granted for the purchase of a snow bucket in the amount of $2,300.

Claims for December in the amount of $194,418.38 were approved. Minutes were approved for the Dec. 14 regular meeting and Dec. 20 special administrative meeting.
