Bainville Stops MonDak For League Victory
A strong fourth quarter lifted Bainville’s boys’ basketball squad over MonDak by a 44-34 final on Friday, Jan. 7.
After trailing by a 12-9 margin at the end of the first quarter, the Bulldogs moved ahead 25-19 in the second quarter.
MonDak bounced back to grab a 33-31 advantage in the third quarter.
Bainville’s defense then held the Thunder to one point in the fourth period for a 44-34 victory.
“Points were hard to come by, but things went our way in the fourth,” Bainville Coach Jess Romo said. “Mon-Dak’s defense was pretty disruptive, but we found a way to dig deep in the final period and get some breathing room.”
Leading the Bulldogs were Jesse Strickland with 15 points and Braeden Romo with 12 points.
Also scoring for Bainville were Ayden Knudsen with eight, Alex Strickland with five and Charles Butikofer with four points.
Romo grabbed 14 rebounds in the victory.
Erik Field led the Thunder with 13 points. Adam Paine added seven points.
