Winter’s blustery weather seemed to be here to stay with a week-long -21 average temperature to wake up to. School buses were canceled one day, but teams are playing basketball and school has continued. Lustre played Frazer at Lustre on Saturday, winning both Lustre Christian High School girls and boys games.
Notice was received of the death of Harry Rauch, son of Herb and Ida Rauch, husband of Myrna Rauch and father of Nicholas, Brody, Cassidy and Desere. They lived at least 25 years in the Lustre community before moving to Lewistown. He died Dec 31. They were longtime members of the Lustre EMB Church and he had worked as court stenographer at Wolf Point for many years.
Brian and Susanna Dick of Omaha, Neb., came to the Lustre EMB Church and presented their goal of serving in the Springs of Life Camp in Spain. They have two young children, ages one and three. Brian’s roots come back to this community although he grew up in Mali and Spain, where his parents, Sam and Debbie, were working with Avant. Old-timers will remember his grandparents Marvin and Tena Dick, who also represented our community in Mali years ago. Brian’s position will be in maintenance for a camp that operates year-round a year, serving 2000 campers a year in groups of various ages.
