Elks Lodge Donates To Help Foster Babies
The Wolf Point Elks Lodge #1764 is using funds received through national Beacon grants to help the area’s youngest residents.
The Elks National Foundation has made $3,500 in Beacon grants available to every lodge. Beacon grants allow lodges a chance to develop an on-going, charitable Elks-driven community project.
After seeing a Facebook post by former local nurse Paige Stanton about starting a diaper drive, Wolf Point Elks secretary Julie D’Ambrosio thought that a great local project for the Elks would be providing needed supplies to foster babies in the area.
The result was, through a Beacon grant, donating $1,750 in supplies to both Northeast Montana Health Services and the Montana Public Health and Human Services office in Wolf Point.
Items donated at the hospital included clothes, blankets, bibs, wipes, baby lotion and gift cards.
Items donated to Health and Human Services included car seats, pack and plays, duffle bags and diaper bags.
