Crowded Field For Sheriff
Two more individuals have entered the race for the Roosevelt County sheriff position.
David Gonzales filed for the election on Tuesday, Jan. 18. Coretta Greybear filed on Thursday, Jan. 20.
Incumbent Jason Frederick and challenger Brent Nygard each filed for the position on Thursday, Jan. 13.
The only other contested race in the county at this point is county commissioner where Edward L. Bach and Robert Toavs have filed. The office is currently held by Duane Nygaard.
The primary election is scheduled for June 7. The general election is June 8.
Candidate filing closes on March 14.
Others who have filed include county attorney Frank Piocos, clerk and recorder/public administrator Cheryl A. Hansen, justice of the peace for post no. 1 Traci Harada and treasurer/accessor Betty Romo.
