The Poplar wrestling team posted several victories during its home mixer on Tuesday, Jan. 18.

One of the squad’s highlights was senior Jase Frederick pinning Miles City’s Isaac Beardsley in 3:13 at 120 pounds. Beardsley had defeated Frederick in Great Falls earlier this season.

Frederick’s other victory during the night came on a pin in 2:22 over Forsyth’s Abe Potts.

Another big highlight for the Indians was senior Jazmin Gorder pinning Miles City’s Robin Liedholt in 5:45. Liedholt, who recently took first at the Cowboy Invitational, led the match heading into the third period.

Gorder pinned Circle’s Cierra Norton in 3:13 during action earlier in the meet.

Nina Escarcega keeps winning for the Indians. The freshman pinned Miles City’s Jenna Watts in 38 seconds, outpointed Circle’s Santiago Alonzo, 16-1, and pinned Circle’s Norton in 1:58.

Poplar’s Kameron Reum pinned Miles City’s Deegan Tvedt in 2:59 at 138 pounds and then scored a pin over Circle’s Bowen Taylor.

Gage Berg pinned Miles City’s Ryan Paxton in 1:56, pinned Miles City’s Dayne Langston in 5:56 and pinned Circle’s Bryce Black in 1:51.

Jacob Berger was pinned by Miles City’s Holden Meged in 3:45 and then in 4:23.
