Applications Available For Brush Lake Scholarship

Seniors graduating this spring, college students and parents are reminded that Brush Lake scholarship application forms are now available from local pastors currently with ELCA or LCMC affiliation or directly from the Brush Lake scholarship secretary Jandy Jorgensen.

These scholarships are awarded from the available interest earned on the principle from the sale of the former Brush Lake Bible Camp property and subsequent donations. Last year, two scholarships totaling $1,000 each were awarded to Kaden Hansen of First English Lutheran of Bainville and Alecia Lagerquist of Immanuel Lutheran of Westby.

Since 1987, more than $68,000 has been awarded to recipients.

Any ELCA or LCMC Lutheran student is eligible who has attended a high school in the Northeast Montana Cluster for at least one year. Eligibility also includes those students from the area who may now be enrolled in any accredited school of higher education including vocational schools.

Scholarships must be applied for annually. Complete applications will be considered as long as those applications are postmarked no later than March 31.
