Culbertson dropped both of its basketball contests at Plentywood on Friday, Jan. 28.

In the girls’ game, Plentywood earned a 71-31 victory.

After leading by only a 10-6 margin at the end of the first quarter, Plentywood increased the gap to 32-15 in the second period.

The Wildcats outscored Culbertson 16-12 in the third quarter and 23-4 in the final period.

Destiny Thompson led the Cowgirls with 15 points.

Also scoring for Culbertson were Makena Hauge with seven, Ayden Ator with four, Perla Burciaga with three and Alicyn Ator with two.

Top scorers for Plentywood were Liv Wangerin with 16, Emma Brensdal with 12 and Ashtyn Curtiss with nine points.

Plentywood won the boys’ game by a 64-42 final.

The Wildcats gained a 21-8 lead in the first quarter and increased the margin to 37-15 in the second quarter.

Colin Avance led the Cowboys with 17 points while Payton Perkins added 12 points.

Also scoring for Culbertson were Bridger Salvevold with six, Isaiah Bighorn with three, James Kirkaldie with two and Maurice Bighorn with two.

Leading Plentywood were Reese Wirtz with 21 and Noah Murray with 13 points.
