Eastern C Football Will Feature New Format
By Bill Vander Weele
Eastern C eight-man football will have a different format starting in the fall of 2022.
The eight teams in the league will feature MonDak, Plentywood, Scobey, Culbertson, Poplar, Circle, Fairview and Ekalaka.
“It’s moving from 10 teams to eight teams,” Culbertson superintendent of schools Larry Crowder said.
The new alignment will allow squads to play each opponent in the conference. There will not be any “playin” games at the end of the regular season schedule.
With five divisions in the state, the top three teams of each league will advance to the playoffs. One fourth-place team will qualify for the playoffs based on a rotation system involving each of the conferences.
