Wolf Point lost by a 66-51 final at Glasgow during boys’ basketball action on Friday, Jan. 28.

A highlight for the Wolves in the physical contest came when junior guard Kelby Bauer connected on a buzzer shot that covered nearly three-quarters of the court to end the opening half. The Wolves, who played a good amount of the half without injured Jaxon Azure and Kraven Silk, trailed 30-22 at intermission.

The Scotties were able to score seven straight points to build their advantage to 39-26 late in the third quarter. After Wolf Point’s Ethan Blount scored off a rebound, Glasgow’s Bergen Miller hit a shot for a 41-28 margin at the end of the period.

Down by a 43-28 score, the Wolves got their offensive attack going when Bauer hit two three-pointers and Cory Martell accounted for a steal and drive.

A basket by Blount off a pass from Martell and a 16-footer by Juliun Benson pulled the Wolves to 45-40 with still five minutes to play.

After a three-pointer by Silk kept the Wolves close at 49-43 with 4:24 left, the Scotties used free-throw shooting along with the scoring of Wyatt Babb to put in the game’s next eight points.

Three-pointers by Bauer and Blount got the Wolves as close as 64-51 in the final minute.

Wolf Point’s top scorers were Bauer with 24 and Silk with 10 points.

Rounding out the scoring were Blount with seven, Martell with six, Benson with two and Peyton Summers with two.

Leading Glasgow were Miller with 18 and Babb with 16. Smith and Keigan Ingram scored 11 points each.

The Wolves trailed 12-5 at the end of the first quarter, but a drive by Bauer and a three-pointer by Silk closed the gap to 12-10 at the start of the second period.
