Frazer’s Girls Earn Win Over Lustre

Frazer’s girls’ basketball squad scored a 43-30 win over Lustre Christian on Saturday, Feb. 5. The Bearcubs trailed by a 16-14 half-time margin, but Frazer struck for 18 points in the third quarter for a 32-21 advantage. Liana Jackson and Audrey Smoker each scored seven points in the quarter.

The Bearcubs added 11 more points in the fourth period for the win.

Reaching double figures for the Bearcubs were Jackson with 12, Smoker with 10 and Bailey Beston with 10 points.

Also scoring were Angel Nelligan with seven and Angeline White with four points.

Aubri Holzrichter led Lustre with 24 points.

Also scoring were Grace Brown with four and Hannah Brown with two points.

Frazer’s girls opened the weekend with a 49-39 loss against Nashua.

The game was deadlocked at 15-15 after the first quarter. Nashua held a 32-28 half-time lead.

The Bearcubs moved ahead 39-36 in the third quarter. Beston scored six points in the period.

Nashua then outscored Frazer by a 13-0 margin in the final period.

Beston led the Bearcubs with 15 points and Jackson added 12 points.

Also scoring were Smoker with six, White with two, Nelligan with two and Isabelle Even with two.

Tia Dees scored 28 points for Nashua.
