Glasgow’s Valley View Home Seeks County Funds

Glasgow’s Valley View Home received approval for $500,000 from American Rescue Plan Act funds marked for the use by Valley County.

The Valley County Commissioners voted in favor of the move at the Jan. 26 regular meeting. Commissioner Mary Armstrong abstained from the vote.

Valley View administrators told the commissioners that the nonprofit facility has been facing insolvency despite years-long municipal and community efforts to provide stable funding.

The board of directors at Valley View put together a long-term plan for financial viability in 2018, but the facility is again facing shortfalls.

Valley View administrator Wes Thompson told area media that the current financial woes at the home were caused by the ongoing pandemic.
