Wolf Point’s girls’ basketball squad was able to celebrate senior night by stopping Scobey, 38-32, on Saturday, Feb. 12.

The Wolves trailed 12-10 at the end of the first quarter and the margin became 15-10 when Scobey’s Daisy Hersel nailed a three-pointer to open the second period.

Wolf Point started to turn the game around on a free throw by Hamyanie Campbell and a basket off a rebound by Sierra Hamilton. After Scobey’s Karys Lamb hit a three-pointer, Campbell scored off a great pass from Jaylee Azure and then connected on a three-pointer to pull the Wolves to 18-17.

Down by a 20-17 margin, Wolf Point moved ahead with the next seven points when Josie Kolstad made a free throw, Campbell drove for a hoop and Hamilton scored inside twice. A three-pointer by Scobey’s Lamb closed the gap to 24-23 at the half.

A three-pointer by J’Elle Garfield, a hoop by Campbell off a pass from Garfield and a basket off a rebound by Adeia Erickson put the Wolves up 33-25 after three quarters of play.

A three-pointer by Azure gave Wolf Point a 38-28 advantage with only 2:09 remaining in the non-conference game.

Campbell led the Wolves with 13 points. Also scoring were Hamilton with eight, Kolstad with six, Garfield with five, Azure with three, Erickson with two and KJ St.Marks with one. Leading Scobey were Lamb with 12 and Hersel with 10 points.

The Wolves will open up against Glasgow at the District 2B tournament in Glasgow on Thursday starting at 5 p.m. The top four teams from the tournament will advance to the divisional tourney.
