Lustre Boys Outscore North Country

Lustre Christian’s boys’ basketball squad defeated North Country, 69-32, on Friday, Feb. 11.

The Lions took a 16-7 lead in the first quarter and increased the gap at 26-18 at the half.

Lustre then erupted for 23 points in the third quarter for a 49-24 advantage. Lustre’s Elijah Lenihan scored eight and Cayden Klatt hit two three-pointers in the period.

Kolden Hoversland and Jasiah Hambira led the Lions with 13 points each. Klatt and Lenihan each finished with 10 points.

Also scoring were Clay Reddig with nine, Alex Chen with seven, Braden Ewing with four, Kaleb Hoversland with two and Bryan Chen with one.

Ewing grabbed seven rebounds. Kolden Hoversland finished with three steals and six assists. Hambira had four steals.

Trey Johnson scored 17 points for North Country.

In the girls’ game, North Country won by a 63-11 final.

The Mavericks led 21-2 after the first quarter and 42-2 at intermission.

Aubri Holzrichter scored seven and Grace Brown added four points for the Lions.

Leading North Country were Paige Wasson with 13 and Mattea McColly with 12 points.
